Overview

The finish is what people actually see.

Finishing is the difference between a wall that looks flat and one that shows every seam when the afternoon sun rakes across it. We coat, sand, and check our work the way it will be seen — under real light, not just a work lamp.

We finish to the level the room needs: a standard level 4 for most painted walls, or a level 5 skim coat where glossy paint, big windows, or critical lighting would reveal imperfections. Ceilings, accent walls, and high-end rooms get the extra attention they require.

Every finish is left clean, dust-managed, and primer-ready so your paint goes on over a true, smooth surface.

Common Problems We Solve

What drywall finishing actually covers.

If your situation isn't listed here, call (208) 530-3308 — after two generations on the job we've probably seen it.

Smooth Walls

Flat, even surfaces for standard painted walls — the everyday level-4 finish done well.

Level 5 Skim Coat

Full skim coat for glossy paint, raking light, and big windows that show every flaw.

Ceilings & Lids

Smooth or lightly textured ceilings finished to read flat from the floor.

Seam & Corner Cleanup

Bedding tape and beads so joints and corners vanish under paint.

Re-Finish Over Repairs

Blending new finish into existing walls after patches or remodels.

Primer-Ready Handoff

A clean, dust-managed surface your painter can prime and roll immediately.

Our Process

Four steps from first call to finished wall.

No surprises, no mystery. Here's how a typical drywall finishing job runs with Brizzee Drywall.
STEP 01

Assess the Lighting

We look at windows, fixtures, and paint sheen to recommend the right finish level — no over- or under-building.

STEP 02

Coat & Build

Tape is bedded and joints are built up with clean, feathered coats of compound.

STEP 03

Sand & Check

We sand and inspect under raking light, then touch up anything that shows.

STEP 04

Primer-Ready

The surface is left smooth, clean, and ready for primer and paint.

FAQ · Drywall Finishing

Common drywall finishing questions.

Don't see your question here? Call (208) 530-3308.

What is a level 5 finish and do I need one?
A level 5 finish adds a full skim coat over the entire surface. It is worth it for glossy or dark paint, walls with strong raking light, or big open rooms. For most standard painted walls, a well-done level 4 looks great.
Do you finish ceilings too?
Yes — walls and ceilings both. Ceilings often show imperfections more than walls because of overhead light, so we finish them with that in mind.
Do you prime or paint?
We focus on drywall and leave the surface primer-ready. Many customers have a painter prime and paint, or we can recommend one.
Can you finish over an existing repair so it blends?
Yes. We feather new finish into the surrounding wall and match the surface so the repaired area disappears once painted.
